Cafeteria Plan
Effective 1/1/09, Management employees receive $2,100 per year, which can be used for a contribution into a 401(k), dependent care, medical co-insurance or cash.

Deferred Compensation
Voluntary 457 and 401(k) are available through payroll deduction. Beginning 1/1/08, the County will match employee contributions to a 401(k) $1 for every $4, to a maximum of $750/yr.

Education Allowance
Tuition reimbursement available for approved classes up to a maximum of $800.00 per year.

Health Insurance
The County of Placer provides Medical, Dental and Vision insurance for its employees and their dependents. MEDICAL: Several medical plans are offered including HMO and PPO plans. Depending on which plan the employee chooses, the maximum County contribution for medical insurance for a family is up to $1317.64/mo. DENTAL: The maximum County contribution for dental insurance for a family is $46.00/mo. VISION: The maximum County contribution for vision insurance for a family is $9.20/mo. (These are non-Tahoe rates.)

$50,000 coverage, employer paid at a cost of $15.50/mo.

Long-Term Disability
Employee paid LTD for the first 5 years of employment, County paid there after at a cost of $0.36/100 of pay.

Management/Admin. Leave
72 hours per year plus a 4% adjustment per formula.

Retiree Medical
Hired prior to 1/01/05 with 5 years of PERS service credit same as active employee. Hired after 1/01/05, must have 10 years PERS service credit with 5 years with Placer County to receive 50% of the County contribution paid medical with an additional 5% for each additional year.

Retirement
PERS 3.0% @ 50 Local Safety, Employer's contribution is 24.860%. Employee's contribution is 9%, employer picks up 9% of the employee contribution, 9% EPMC. (Note: Placer County employees contribute 6.2% into Social Security and 1.45% into Medicare, which is matched by the County.)

Sick Leave
12 days per year unlimited accrual.

Special Assign/Additional Pay
Special Enforcement team, Certified Divers, Hostage Negotiations and Explosive Ordinance Detail all receive an additional $125.00/month each. Canine handlers receive $175/month for canines owned by the county or $275/month for deputy owned canines. Wellness Incentive - upon presentation of form from Dr. receives additional 5% of base pay per year; Increases 2/06 to 5%. Education incentives: Basic POST - 5%; Inter. POST - 5%; Adv POST- 5%; AA - $50/pp; BA - $75/pp. Tahoe Subsidy - $675.00; Tahoe Rural Health Subsidy of $2000 for single coverage and $3000 for family coverage per year. Night shift - 7.5%; Stand-by = $21 weekday/$24 weekend for 8 hrs time; Undercover Assignment pay additional 5%. 5% additional Bilingual pay. Longevity pay of an additional 5% after 5 years at Step 5 or 10 years service, after 20 years of service 5% increase in base salary. Certain positions may not be eligible to receive some or all pays.

Stand-By Pay
$21 for weekdays and $24 for weekends and holidays paid for in units of 8 hours.

Uniform Allowance
$1065 per year for Auburn area deputies and $1215 for Tahoe area deputies and resident deputies. (May not apply to all positions within Safety Management.)

Vacation
Vacation time: 0 - 2 years = 10 days, 3 - 4 years = 12 days, 5 - 9 = 15 days, 10 - 19 years = 20 days and 20 or more years = 25 days. Maximum accrual of 400 hours with less than 10 years of service and 520 hours with more than 10 years of service.
